Asheville Cinema Society

We invite you to join us in bringing film to the mountains. Asheville Cinema Society (ACS) aims to inspire, enhance awareness of, and support new and seasoned filmmakers. It is a membership organization attracting a broad and diverse audience. Carefully selected motion pictures include not yet released films from the top major studios, little known gems of the independent filmmakers, past classics and a variety of shorts. Asheville Food and Environmental Film Festival

The films of the AFEFF are enlightening and inspiring, primarily pointing at how our simple daily choices affect our health and the environment. Some Producers and Directors of the AFEFF film selection will attend and lead Q&As following the screenings. Other Q&As will be led by community or regional organizations working in alignment with worldwide solutions that the ?lms of the AFEFF exemplify. Although the topics are serious, many of the ?lms use humor in providing solutions to our planet’s quandary at the present time. AFEFF

Asheville International Children's Film Festival

The largest children’s film festival in the Southeast, Asheville International Children’s Film Festival celebrates the best and brightest in international children’s cinema with a 14-day extravaganza of over 100 films from more than 30 countries. This year’s festival has a blend of programs including animation, features, shorts, historical films, and fantastic hands-on, interactive workshops for the filmmakers of tomorrow. There are also three very special events, the kick-off gala, costume pancake breakfast, and closing awards ceremony.

Asheville Jewish Film festival

The Asheville Jewish Film Festival promotes the diversity of Jewish identity to it’s community through film, exploring the dynamic environment of history and culture on the modern Jewish experience to a rich and varied community. Festival activities are meant to create a space for dialogue about what it means to be Jewish, creating awareness and pride in various and differing aspects of identity. The festival strives to link newcomers with the vibrant Jewish community formed over Asheville’s history, bringing attention to a constantly evolving Jewish culture.

F-Word Film Festival at UNC-Asheville

UNC Asheville will hold the 10th annual “F-Word Film Festival: A Celebration of Images By and About Women (But For All Audiences)” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, in UNC Asheville’s Humanities Lecture Hall. Two award-winning films, “Club Native” and “Patsy Mink: Ahead of the Majority,” will be screened. A panel discussion with UNC Asheville faculty and students will follow the screenings. The event is free and open to the public.

HATCH Asheville is a non-profit organization. The mission of HATCH is to provide mentorship, education, inspiration and recognition to the next generation of creative innovators. We focus on the creative industries and how to best leverage our creative professions to impact the community and the planet in a positive and sustainable way. HATCHfest brings together luminaries in the arts and entertainment world to serve as mentors to groundbreaking new creative talent. We host panels, workshops, keynotes, exhibits, networking parties, and mentoring sessions for four days in the heart of downtown Asheville.
