     Daughters of Kerala is a collection of short stories written by award winning Malayalam authors translated into English. All the stories are about women and two about Muslim women. The original stories written over a period of 70 years depict the progression of women from burdensome and rigid social mores to a more open society that exerts different types of pressures. Leading a privileged life in this country we have no idea about the real struggles women go through in life. Translations like this give a clear picture of what has happened over the years.

     TRIVIA, deriving from "tri-via" (crossroads), was one of the names of the Triple Goddess. Recognizing that what is of primary importance in women's lives tends to be relegated to the margins of patriarchal history and thought, dismissed as "trivial," we conceive TRIVIA: Voices of Feminism as a place at the crossroads where women's ideas can assume their original power and significance.
